Finding ways to improve health and reduce diabetes risks as well as other illnesses is important. Changing from unhealthy to healthy patterns is not easy! We get comfortable with our habits. The truth is our unhealthy actions play some part in about half of the nation’s deaths. While we use to think of unhealthy behaviors in terms of tobacco, alcohol, and drug use, actually America’s unhealthy eating and physical inactivity is killing us more. Overweight or obesity is a great health risk. If the pounds have crept up over the years, one thing we can do to prevent diabetes is work toward reducing a dress or pant size.
Most people want to live a life without illness or disease. Sometimes, we keep our minds from thinking about illness or just say something like, "It will not happen to me!" Others intend to change behaviors. They may make plans about starting a new way of eating tomorrow, yet tomorrow never arrives! Still others think that there is nothing they can do about what happens. They think things are inevitable and cannot be changed. This is not true! We can make SMALL changes in the ways we live and reap LARGE rewards. Two things can assist us all to reduce our health risks, healthy eating and increasing our physical activity.
SMALL changes in the ways we live can reap LARGE rewards.
