Fotonovella - Family Support for Those with Sugar Diabetes
This fotonovella provides a more positive view of what can happen when a family offers valued support to a family member diagnosed with diabetes. Consider ways the family is being supportive. What other things can be done by family members or friends to support the person living with diabetes?
This fotonovella can be viewed as an online file and printed. If you want to format the story into a booklet, you will need to make a copy on a CD-ROM and take it to a local printer. It can be used with diabetes education classes, support groups, and professional education. A discussion guide is also available and can be used after the fotonovella is read. Fotonovellas can be placed in a variety of public places where they might be readily accessed. Places such as beauty parlors, barber shops, laundromats, car washes, automotive repair shops, or other places where people have to wait for services can be good places to make these available. Be creative and find ways you can use these materials in your program and community.
